Next Steps Support

There is a variety of support offered through the Next Steps project and this means that you can use the service in a way to suit YOU, your needs and your lifestyle.
There are weekly support groups where you can talk freely and get ideas from others on how to cope. You can use Next Steps as a source of information on depression and local services, browsing through our leaflets or borrowing a book from our small library. You could join us on the Woking Health Walks for exercise and undemanding company.
The Next Steps depression support worker is available on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday for a chat on the phone, or you can make an appointment to see her. Probably the most valuable aspect of the help available is being part of a network of people who are experiencing similar difficulties and can support and encourage one another.
One to One
You can make an appointment to talk to our depression support worker Louise Ensoll in confidence. Often, this is a good first step to getting some help.
She does not offer counselling but an opportunity to talk about how you are feeling and explore different ways of using self help to get through depression and to decide on the next step for you.
This might help if you are feeling uncertain about joining a support group or if you just feel that you are getting stuck or overwhelmed.
